Birmingham Children’s Hospital oncology ward treats around 250 new children and young people with cancer, leukaemia and brain tumours each year from around the West Midlands and beyond. Birmingham Children’s Hospital is the UK’s leading specialist paediatric centre, caring for sick children and young people up to the age of 16. The oncology department is a specialist cancer ward comprising a team of doctors, nurses (on the ward, in clinics and in the community), social workers, psychologists, play specialists, teachers and pharmacists.
